I love this. I love having just one album of the year. I love the way you made me listen to this. I love that I'm enjoying it, and zooming into a music world I wouldn't have experienced if it had been buried on a 100-deep list. Thank you!
sold, will listen TODAY. your writing is so persuasive. also saw an end of year list with 300 albums, no joke. really contemplated what the possible criteria could be and if they ever sat in silence this year…
Enjoyed this, Adam. I think a list of 75 records you loved is totally valid, especially if it's your job, but the takeaway is always worth reinforcing. I'd always prefer my life to be changed by a thing rather than barely touched by 100.
Love this, Adam! Especially this simple line in it: “How many times did you play your #73?” Worthy of a Pulitzer Prize for snark (and no person is really diminished by it, it’s just a little truth bomb!)
Adam this broke and rebuilt the writer’s hand which protects a musical heart - connecting with some underground lullabies of my own. A gift at the lip of the new year
Loved listening to this review. Hate to break it to you, but… you’re an excellent music journalist. (Not that that’s surprising.)
Anyone hiring those?

Thanks for reading and giving it a spin. The record deserves more fans.
Sublime stuff, words and music both. Thank you 🤘

I can dig the enthusiasm of listening widely, but believe some discernment in what’s covered would be healthy. Hope you dig the Broncho.
That’s some wondrous headphone music.

I do!!
Worth considering whether that requirement of the job has helped diminish the trade?
Of all the things diminishing music journalism in the last 25 years, I don't think that rates.
Ok but do you like the Broncho?
On the subject of “best lists”, BIG EARS (Yearly, eclectic music festival in Knoxville) just posted “Thurston Moore’s Best 350 Records of the Year”.
No lie.
Saw it. He’s clearly trolling.
Absolutely do not at all think he was trolling.

“I’d call them underground lullabies” okay sold
dip in!
what an apt description of a really lovely album. thanks Adam.
I adored this album! Think I Pass is now one of my all time favorite songs. agreed it was totally slept on. Loved reading this
Well, this piqued my interest.
I’ve promised Jared the Manager 3-6 new fans via my review.
promise kept. I've been actively spreading the word to chip away at the sameness in so many EOY lists.
