Modest Mouse on Party Film, 1997

Modest Mouse, touring through the lonesome crowded Midwest in 1997. I didn’t like the dumb border on the film at the time, but am 100% heavily into it today. Unsure where these were taken; I drove to different cities to see them. Maybe Chicago? Cincinnati at Sudsy Malone’s?

They were still touring as a three-piece, the superior MM format. Isaac’s playing that cheap and uncool blue guitar with the mounted pick dispenser on it. Was it a knockoff Ibanez!? Where the fuck’s the rest of Jeremiah’s drum kit in the second shot below?
